Social value – working in the community.
The project partners are all committed to delivering a variety of community-focused activities in line with the area’s key priorities; economy, employment and skills, training and engagement, environment and health.
We’ll be arranging activities to engage with local people to support the community and provide further information to residents about the project. We’ll also work with schools, colleges and youth groups to encourage young people to consider a career in the construction sector, highlighting the variety of careers and entry routes into the industry. We can also support with career and CV workshops, mock interviews, and careers fairs too.
Please get in touch if you have an event or charity we can support, and we’ll get back to you as soon we can.
Supporting local business
We have committed to spending £3,000,000 with businesses within the London Borough of Lewisham and £17,900,000 with businesses within 40 miles of the project. When looking for sub-contractors, we are inviting local businesses to tender where possible.

Creating local employment and training opportunities
We want to provide opportunities for local people to gain employment to support their future careers. We are committed to employing local Lewisham residents to work on the project and 40 people to gain accredited or health and safety training.
