We have had three graduates and three apprentices working with us on site, including two local residents.
We train and upskill the workforce in different areas, with two of the apprentices attending an accredited plant marshall course to support their future careers. The course included how to prepare for vehicle movements and guidance, communication with drivers, identification of plant hazards and ground conditions, and work area layout and positioning for safety.
Three additional young people have gained work experience with us, including one University of Westminster student from Lewisham. They visited the site and did virtual tours and spoke with different team members on their visits to gain an insight into the industry.
We currently have nine local people working with us on site in a variety of roles. All of our job opportunities are posted on the Lewisham Construction Hub which aims to provide opportunities for Lewisham residents before they are advertised more widely. We are also working with local businesses to support the local economy and have spent £1,454,000 with Lewisham businesses to date.
